Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 13, 2026.
DeskHelper Pro is a local-first macOS menu-bar utility for display controls, optional Wi-Fi switching, Finder context menu actions, local Safes, and Secure Pocket.
- No DeskHelper Pro sign-in or user profile.
- No event tracking, session tracking, advertising pixels, or usage telemetry.
- Display, Finder, Safe, Secure Pocket, and feedback actions run locally unless you choose an explicit network action.
Data Collection
DeskHelper Pro does not collect, store, sell, share, or transmit personal information through its display-management, Finder action, Safe, or Secure Pocket features. Xintech LLC does not receive information about your displays, files, settings, usage, or device from the app unless you intentionally send it through email support, check for updates, or activate a license.
- No DeskHelper Pro account is required.
- No analytics, tracking SDKs, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting SDKs are included.
- No background telemetry is sent to Xintech LLC.
Local Data
DeskHelper Pro may store a small amount of local preference data and bounded local diagnostic logs on your Mac. This is used to make the app behave consistently between launches and to prepare bug-report drafts when you choose to report a bug.
Local preferences may include:
- Menu settings such as auto blackout, mirroring, display adjustment, keyboard shortcut, keyboard backlight, Wi-Fi switching, and start-at-login preferences.
- Finder context menu preferences, including which actions are enabled and which editor, terminal, or compatible app you selected.
- Safe workflow preferences, local folder choices, and bounded local diagnostic messages. DeskHelper Pro never stores Safe passwords.
- Secure Pocket vault metadata, encrypted manifests, encrypted payload blobs, and .mhpocket packages stored locally on your Mac.
- Trial markers, license validation timestamps, and a license key stored in your Mac's Keychain if you activate a license.
DeskHelper Pro uses macOS display APIs for display controls, CoreWLAN APIs for optional Wi-Fi switching, and macOS Finder extension APIs for Finder context menu actions. Finder, Safe, and Secure Pocket operations read local selections only when you choose a DeskHelper Pro action, and DeskHelper Pro does not upload Finder paths, file contents, Safe contents, Secure Pocket contents, or passwords to Xintech LLC.
Finder Context Menus and Safes
DeskHelper Pro includes a bundled Finder extension. If you enable it in macOS settings, Finder can show DeskHelper Pro actions for selected files, folders, or Finder windows.
- Finder selections are read only after you choose a DeskHelper Pro Finder action.
- New File, New Folder, Paste, Move Here, Copy Path, and Open actions run locally on your Mac.
- Open actions pass the selected path to the local app you choose, such as TextEdit, Terminal, Codex, Claude, VSCode, or another compatible app.
- Encrypt to New Safe reads selected local files or folders and writes a single encrypted .safe file after you choose a password and destination.
- Add to Existing Safe reads selected local items and the chosen .safe file, then rewrites a replacement Safe after the operation succeeds.
- Decrypt Safe reads the chosen .safe file and restores only the selected contents to the folder you choose.
Safe encryption and decryption are local actions. DeskHelper Pro never stores or logs Safe passwords, and it does not upload Finder paths or file contents to Xintech LLC.
Secure Pocket
Secure Pocket is a local encrypted vault for small private notes, clipboard snippets, and files. The vault is stored on your Mac with encrypted manifests and encrypted payload data. DeskHelper Pro can export or import encrypted .mhpocket packages when you choose those actions.
Secure Link and Secure Drop flows may recognize links or prepare encrypted handoff flows. The app does not upload selected files or transmit Secure Pocket contents unless a flow clearly asks you to start that transfer.
Network Activity
DeskHelper Pro's normal display controls, Finder context menus, Safes, and Secure Pocket local vault features do not require a network connection.
Update checks may contact the public Sparkle update feed when automatic update checks are enabled or when you choose Check for Updates. License activation, validation, and deactivation contact Lemon Squeezy and may send your license key plus a local instance name so you can recognize this Mac later.
Auto Wi-Fi Switch is optional. macOS may require Location permission before apps can see Wi-Fi network names and access point addresses. DeskHelper Pro uses that permission only for Wi-Fi details used by the menu and Auto Wi-Fi Switch. It does not read, store, or transmit Wi-Fi passwords.
Bug Reports, Feature Requests, and Feedback
The "Report a Bug...", "Suggest a Feature...", and "Send Feedback..." menu items open a draft in your default email app addressed to Xintech LLC. The app does not send email automatically. You can review, edit, or delete the draft before sending it.
Bug report drafts may include a bounded excerpt of recent DeskHelper Pro diagnostic logs. Feature request and general feedback drafts do not include logs.
Your Choices
- You can leave feedback drafts unsent, edit them, or delete diagnostic details.
- You can disable automatic update checks in Sparkle update preferences.
- You can turn Auto Wi-Fi Switch on or off from the DeskHelper Pro menu.
- You can grant, deny, or revoke Location permission for Wi-Fi details in macOS System Settings.
- You can enable or disable the Finder extension in macOS settings.
- You can open Full Disk Access settings from DeskHelper Pro if Finder actions need protected macOS locations.
- You can deactivate this Mac from the license window.
- You can remove local app preferences using normal macOS preference-management tools.
